Are you seeking a St. Louis family staycation? Well, for those who don’t know I’m currently living out in St.Louis. Not precisely in the city though, my husband and I moved out to the ‘burbs in the lovely county of St. Charles. You can read all about our new beginning here. Anyway, being that #momlife consumes my being every day, I hardly find time to venture out downtown. It’s not common for us to go on luxurious weekend trips, but when we do the hot spot is over at The Chase Park Plaza. My little family & I had the pleasure of staying there last weekend! I’d love to share with you our experience!
Whether you’re local or not you’ll instantly fall in love with the vibes here. The Chase Plaza, upscale hotel, is one of the most chic and modernized historic hotels you’ll encounter. While it’s located right in the vibrant neighborhood of Central West End you should know this facility is almost a century old! Despite the Great Depression the Plaza was fully constructed in the early 1930’s! I’m astonished by historic locations, therefore, I was highly intrigued when I learned about theirs. Not much of a history bluff? Fret not, there’s so much more to this location than it’s history. The Plaza is actually surrounded by some of St. Louis’s iconic attractions and sights. There’s so much to love about this hotel, and that’s simply the beginning.
Shortly after check-in our grand suite awaited us in the concierge level. This is an ‘exclusive’ floor that provides access to the chase club. There you can find complimentary breakfast, dinner appetizers, desserts, drinks, and more! All of course at it’s designated time. We were able to treat ourselves to the pre-dinner bites and let me tell you everything was very delicious! We devoured so much, even Kaden! No shame.
Aveda Spa for Mama
I left the boys back in our suite while I enjoyed one of the Plaza’s best amenities. This was my favorite, but I may be a tad bias because mama was over due for a ‘me time’. Seriously though, I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The staff were all very accommodating and friendly. They offered complimentary wine, champagne, flavored water, etc. Super sweet gals that know how to take care of your needs! Aside from everyone being so welcoming, this spa provided the best Stress Fix Pedicure I’ve ever had. The decor is fabulous, the services are every woman’s desire (hair/nails/massage/facials/makeup), and the staff get it done! Even if you aren’t a guest at the Plaza I highly recommend booking an appointment here anyway.
Exploring The Pool + Chase Club Before Dinner
Prior to dinner, we had about an hour in a half to spend exploring after my spa reservation. We managed to explore the entire main floor of the hotel. We spent most of the time appreciating the lovely pool view and inside The Chase Club. It had been raining all afternoon, therefore we didn’t have plans to actually go for a swim even though K felt otherwise. He enjoyed prancing outside and climbing up on all the outdoor furniture. Which by the way is absolutely gorgeous! They have a cabana, bar, and outside dining area from The Chase Club. The Chase is an up-beat restaurant in the hotel. I’ve had the pleasure of trying their drinks and appetizers prior to this visit and it was all delicious! I believe the restaurant turns into a party-lounge in the evening time as well.
Dining At The Preston
Unfortunately, because the lighting is low and dim I didn’t snap many pictures. Plus, I was too busy making sure Kaden wouldn’t throw a tantrum and browsing their dinner/drink menu as well. Surprisingly our little man did great though! Maybe because it’s wasn’t a quiet atmosphere, so he was easily entertained. We had a full 3 course meal, very exquisite and filling! David and I ordered the House Crafted Breads for the 1st course, they were absolutely mouthwatering! For the entree I made an extravagant decision (sarcasm) and ordered the Hawaiian BBQ Chicken, I like to keep my meals simple guys. The hubs had the Hawaiian Swordfish and Kaden’s meal was scrumptious as well, he had a large plate of mac n cheese with chicken fingers. Yum! For dessert we each had the Milk Chocolate Panna Cotta which is Ferrero Rocher Gelato and Smoked Hazelnut. Left The Preston highly satisfied!
Our final day was a bit gloomy outside, but that didn’t stop us from going up to the Starlight Room and witnessing the spectacular views that surrounded us. This was Kaden’s favorite! It’s a large open space, so that excited him! It’s very safe for children as well, you can see the roof top is high enough for them to freely run around without the danger of looking over. We had so much fun shooting here, even though the rain caught up to us in the end.
Random picture of me exploring Sunday morning.
Movie Theater Sunday Funday
What was supposed to be a family movie night turned into a Sunday Funday activity. This was the concluding activity for our stay actually. Very intimate theater, yet has all you need + more! They sell adult beverages along with any other good you’d find at a concession stand. We watched Jason Bourne and by the time it was over, K was sound asleep. I highly suggest you check this place out if you’re seeking a smaller, less crowded theater in the area.
Well, this officially concludes our stay-cation at The Chase Park Plaza. It might have been a short weekend, but ultimately a memorable one with my two boys! This was our first one together and I’m beyond happy we made it happen at the Chase. Be sure to check them out at chaseparkplaza.com; IG; or even on Twitter for more hotel inspiration!
*Disclosure: Many thanks to Chase Park Plaza for hosting our stay cation. Everything was more than we expected! Can’t wait to visit again! x
