Exploring KC Blogger Style

My very first blogger travel partnership over in Kansas City happened last week! I was beyond thrilled when MMGY Global reached out to me about this awesome opportunity w. VisitKC. ! I could already imagine myself wandering through this major city in Missouri. This past weekend I experienced the local lifestyle, KC is indeed such a cool “hipster” city! There were 3 other blogger gals adventuring with me along with our host blogger, Meg Biram. We had a full itinerary set up which leaves me with so much to share with you guys! However, today I’ll talk about the beginning highlights of my weekend adventure. Hope you enjoy the experience through my eyes!

I arrived Friday early afternoon at the hotel. The wonderful service and hospitality The Raphael offered had me completely astonished. Aside from the staff being really kind and generous, I was in love with the vintage structure. The rooms are all suites, the decor is elegantly simple and it highly compliments the overall design. Each room had gorgeous modern detail, but yes the king-size bed was my favorite! The Raphael is a boutique hotel which makes the stay more intimate and not so busy (MAJOR SCOREEE).

I thought I’d have major anxiety after settling in because I didn’t have much time to relax, but I wasn’t anxious at all! I literally had 10 minutes to freshen up prior to meeting everyone else in the lobby, honestly I was too excited to feel any other way. The MMGY gals greeted us with Kansas City totes filled with awesome goodies which was great! Shortly after, on the go we were.

Halls Shopping Event

Halls is located on Grand Ave, it’s a an upscale contemporary fashion retail store. This is where all your designer dreams come to life. Their selection is huge! You can shop apparel, shoes, to accessories, makeup, and kids clothes! They even have a bar/cafe section to unwind and grab a bite. We were given an exclusive store tour + blogger discount which was the highlight of the event! I didn’t purchase anything for me, instead I went downstairs to their Crayola store (which is SO CUTE) and shopped for K. Overall, my experience at Halls was:

F A B U L O U S.

They will be celebrating their 100 year anniversary this fall! Be sure to tune in on Instagram with #halls100!

Afternoon Frozen Cocktails At Snow & Co

Concluding the Halls event, we took a trip down to the Crossroads District for a quick snack. We stopped at a local cafe called Snow & Co, where they serve tasty food AND delicious slushy drinks! You have the option to make them virgin or alcoholic, either way these frozen yum’s are to die for!

Fine Dining At The American

After exploring the Crossroads District, the dinner reservations at The American were ready! Very fortunate that I was able to dine in before the venue turns into an event space. Guests however, can still dine in until end of 2016. In 2017 they will only have “pop up” chefs every once in a while, so be sure to stop by to try the main chef’s exquisite taste.  I’ve personally never had such a luxurious dinner experience quite like this one before. The ceilings have beautiful intricate detail which appear very elegant and appealing as soon as you walk in the door. The city views are spectacular to say the least, and the staff is very attentive + professional. We actually stayed longer than planned because what was supposed to be a 3-course meal turned into a 7-8 course meal! Before our first, middle, and last course they brought out mini dishes for us to sample. I was treated like royalty. This isn’t the type of dinner you’d go to just any night, it’s certainly one to save for a special occasion.

Come Back For More!

Well folks, this sums up the highlights of Day 1 in KC! There was a night cap over at Tom’s Town after dinner, however I took very minimal pics. We basically had delicious drinks and toured the entire bar/lounge. By the end of the night, I was beyond ready for bed! Waking up in this amazingly comfy matress and gorgeous view the next morning was lovely. I’ll be back next week to share more about the following day (Pt 2). In the meantime, let me know what you think so far or what some of your favorite places in KC are! Thanks a lot for stopping by. xx

*A special thanks to VisitKC for sponsoring this trip/post. I appreciate the opportunity they granted me to visit their fun city!
